Julia Mariacher (born in Salzburg) studied contemporary stage dance in Kassel (Sozo Visions in Motion) and German philology in Vienna (University of Vienna). She works at the poetic interface of dance, text and form. Next to her artistic work, she teaches Pilates and contemporary dance and reviews dance and performance.

Form and language are a constant source of Mariacher's aesthetic understanding of art and her way of working. For her, a successful dance can convey and contextualize information and emotional resonance. Her artistic work is characterized by a listening kind of reading, a "languaging" through dance, a tinkering with the moving comma - the breath before continuing to speak and dance.
